When we work with machine builders, we can be involved in the entire project lifecycle- from design to installation. As a control systems integrator, our cross-domain experience and automation expertise is helpful early on. Our engagement will be tailored to your specific needs, but we typically find that the following project phases result in the most successful projects.
Automation Project Phases
1. Investigate and agree on specifics
We will review existing documentation (if any) and interview stakeholders to understand and develop project requirements. If you were already able to specify requirements, we will review and work with you to ensure that they are feasible. Depending on your needs, this may be its own project phase or able to be determined prior to issuing a quote for implementation.
2. System and software design
When designing a system, the mechanical, electrical, and automation software design should not happen in isolation because they are interdependent. The most successful systems are ones in which all engineering aspects are considered through collaborative iteration. As control systems integrators, we offer a unique perspective that can help you avoid some potentially expensive pitfalls.

We have proven experience in designing safety systems so that you can feel secure knowing that your machine is up to date with the latest safety best practices and standards, including ISO 13849 and ISO 12100.

3. Offline programming development
We work at our offices to program the system while you are building and/or installing your equipment. Periodic status meetings are held to ensure quick response to design changes.
4. Programming and design reviews
We identify major milestones where we meet for a review with your team to verify the project progress versus requirements. In some cases, we can demonstrate how the software will look and feel at your facility.
5. Commissioning
We will work with your team to develop a commissioning plan considering required personnel resources, timelines, and strategies for the most efficient startup. In many cases, we can complete part or all of commissioning remotely.
